Best Practices:

Parivarthana has expertise in vermi-composting and bio-pesticides preparation for use of organic farming.   Also it has expertise in agro-forestry and dry-land horticulture development in farm fields.  In addition it has expertise in formation and strengthening of SHGs through CBOs for sustenance to carry their socio-economic needs.

Major Issues:

In Hunsur and Periyapatna taluks where Parivarthana works, tobacco cultivation is rampent.  As a result, in the area trees have been mercilessly cut for tobacco curing both in farm lands and in near by forests.  It leads to climatic change in the area.  In addition soil fertility is declining day-by-day and ground water table is also declining.  Apart  from these environment problems, migration of  village poor  to Coorg district in search of  labor for  livelihood is a common phenomena.  This effects on children education and also on agriculture and allied activities.

Where We Work:

Parivarthana is working in Hunsur and Periyapatna Taluks of  Mysore District in Karnataka.  Specially for women, children, adivasis, dalits and small and marginal farmers for the above mentioned activities in the lines of eco-friendly sustainable development.
